wp-creativix portfolio help needed pls

Hi, I'm looking for some help with the wp-creativix theme Portfolio on my website, the images aren't showing up in the Portfolio page and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to work. I'm new to wordpress btw so any help is appreciated.

The website I'm working on is http://jgdigital.co.uk/hmfinearts/

I would like http://jgdigital.co.uk/hmfinearts/portfolio to work the same as http://creativix.iwebix.de/portfolio/

I've created a page called Portfolio and set the template to Portfolio.
Then I've created a Portfolio page and given it a Portfolio category and assigned a Featured Image to it. I've also inserted a thumbnail and some text into the Portfolio Page just in case (trying everything here).

What else do I have to do to get it to work like http://creativix.iwebix.de/portfolio/ ?

Please help...

I thought it would be a good idea to share my painful experience with those who cannot make it with the portfolio feature. Just follow these easy steps and it should work.

1) Start adding a portfolio category (Portfolio > Portfolio categories) and give it a name of your choice. For the ID choose lowercase without any special character, no space..)

Example : name : My Pictures
id : mypictures

2) Add a post (Portfolio > Add)
- Type a title to your post
- With the send/insert feature on top left above the editor insert your bunch of photos.
- Click the save the modifications button
- On the next screen of the popup at the very bottom of the page click the "insert a gallery" button. Close the popup.
You should now see a frame displayed in the editor.

Then in the right column of your screen at the bottom, click "set a featured image" link and select a photo in the gallery. Do not foget to select "set this image as featured image" before closing the popup.

3) In the right column of your screen, under "Porfolio categories, check the relevant category.

Click "Publish". You're done.

4) To have this magnificent portfolio appearing in your menu, create an empty page with a title of your choise (example : My pics), select "portfolio" as template in the right column, publish it.
Al you have to do then is to add it to your menu (Appearance > Menu).

You can add as many categories as you like. Just follow this tutorial.

I tried the method above by sebert-did not work and the outline did not follow descriptions/titles on my pages.

so happy to find an active thread! my problem is that my pictures upload all distorted - is there a setting i'm supposed to be at under "media" section? I have been trying to get so many themes to run that I may have some old setting in there so I just deleted the values and left them blank and this is what i get. it look terrible! halp

bit different than what i purchased also... the funny part was seeing how that gallery does pop up so...its curious. but it also has the "show in slideshow option" at the bottome
